01 — Origin
From Cambridge,
Maryland.
Born in Cambridge, Maryland, Parrish discovered a passion for drawing at the age of five. That early interest developed into a lifelong dedication to art and led him to study at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), where he further refined his technical skills and artistic approach.
Over the years, Parrish has lived in several culturally diverse places — Brooklyn, NY, Atlanta, GA, the Mediterranean island of Malta, and England in the United Kingdom. Now based in Tirana, Albania. These experiences have broadened his perspective and subtly influenced the variety and character seen throughout his work.
02 — Practice
A studio of
many mediums.
Early in his career Parrish focused primarily on oil and pastel painting, producing carefully composed landscapes and still-life works. In recent years he has increasingly focused on acrylic painting, exploring both photo-realistic portraiture and contemporary bas-relief techniques that add texture and depth to the surface of the painting.
Pastels — one of his earliest artistic interests — have also re-emerged in his current portfolio, lending a softness and immediacy that complements the precision of his acrylic work.
03 — Belief
Craft &
a Gift.
“Creating something meaningful from a blank canvas is both a craft and a gift. Each painting is approached with patience, precision, and a desire to capture not only what something looks like, but the character and presence behind it.”
